STAYING
IN A SLEEPY LITTLE TOWN

From an Internet cafe in Tecolutla, Estado de Veracruz, México
Finally got out of Mexico City. 16 days in
the country's capital. It is enormous!
I skipped Guanajuato and the other small towns around it. I did what I had
to do, financial reasons. Initially I was headed to Veracruz, but at the
last minute, changed my ticket to go to a much smaller town closer to
Tampico.
It´s
called Tecolutla. Small
little crabs scuttle along the beach at night after the sun sets.
There are so many you need to watch your step or you may tread on them.
They can strafe (run sideways while keeping their eye on you) too! The air
is heavy with humidity and a refreshing breeze blows softly.
If I stay here one more night, it will be because I've managed to find a
hammock and a place to hang it.
Hang tough! An update for Mexico City and more than 300 pictures to
accompany it are coming sometime this week. headed to the city of
Oaxaca, a very traditional place, and probably one of the best places to
be for this coming weekend.
If I do go to Cancun, I will try to be there by the end of next week.
