INSURANCE
INFO FOR QUEBEC TRAVELERS

- 298 days outside of
Québec (maybe more).
- Travel insurance with Blue Cross: C$482.
- Ouch!
Covers me for surfing and scuba-diving, but not water-skiing and
bungee-jumping. Damn the bureaucracy of it all! :) Really - where's the
difference? Surfing is as dangerous, if not more so than water-skiing!
Anyhow, looks like I'll have to be selective in my choice of extreme sports.
:) By the way, a bit of advice if you live in Québec
and you are planning on travelling for a while... you should notify RAMQ
(Medicare) about it. You're allowed to stay up to four years outside the
province if you're a student, and up to 182 days per year if you're a
tourist. In some cases, you're allowed up to a year as a tourist, but only
once every 7 years. The point is that you don't want to lose your MEDICARE
COVERAGE! Brief details available here (call for more detailed info):
