You'd think something as simple as hanging out with cool people would be easy to fit into a busy schedule. But you know, my somewhat myopic focus on getting good marks in the IMBA has left me lacking social stimuli. Last semester my mind was clouded and stressed out over doing everything perfectly and making sure I achieved the best marks possible. I resisted the temptation to go out with friends, to go to the gym, and to just hang out and do nothing but vedge (as in vegetable) once in a while. Fighting a system that grades using a bell curve just isn't healthy. I'm gradually learning how to regain the balance whereby I study hard, study smart and submit high-quality work, but still manage to enjoy life, meet new people, and have fun. Passion, Love, Ambition So, anyways, a friend of mine in the iMBA class invited me over for dinner tonight. That's Alexandra Smith, featured above. She had extra food in her fridge and thought of me and my bottomless stomach. She cooked up some spicy chili, green beans marinated in a cayenne/garlic olive oil dressing, and some caesar salad. Absolutely delicious. I had a great time, thanks for thinking of me, Alex.
