I've been up since 3am and this is not unusual. Since I began this iMBA program, my body and mind have been put through physical and mental rigours which I'm only just becoming accustomed to. I'm definitely enjoying the challenge, although it is wearing me thin. Midday naps, or sleeping at 8pm and waking at 3 or 4 in the morning are becoming more common! Also taking more power naps, and breaking up my sleep pattern into periods of four hours here and there. It's difficult to find the right balance of studying, sleeping, exercising, and entertainment. I would usually cut exercise first, and entertainment second since I guess somehow it's easier to go for a beer than to do pushups!! But the relative isolation of the York University campus makes it difficult to head out to the movie theatre on a whim, or pick up a case at the Beer Store when I feel like having one or two. I also don't have a television, and I don't know very many people in this city. So going for a jog or a bike ride are good stimuli to shake me out of the funk that comes with information overload. This is somewhat similar to the strategy I used last year when I was at Concordia. It worked, so why stray from it? You may have noticed also that my website is enjoying somewhat of a comeback. I'm working on coming up with a new design that'll make it much easier to navigate and surf through the hundreds of articles I've posted since May 2002. I'm dividing the various experiences I've had into different sections - the current one being Stories from the IMBA at York University.
