WHAT IS RYANROWE.COM?

This site is... a showcase for people who have followed their dreams, lived life for the moment, and seized an opportunity, any opportunity when the occasion arose. This site is for those people who have dreams but haven't yet followed them because they don't know how, or are too scared, or don't think they'll ever achieve them. Let other people's dreams be an inspiration to you so you can break away from the rat race too.

Live free or die, compadre!

This site is... a low-cost marketing tool for myself, my career, and my skills. It's the best way to get my name out, generate goodwill, and to keep in touch with a whole lot of people at the same time. It gives me the opportunity to practice my web-development and design skills, work on my Spanish writing abilities, and I can keep the ryanrowe.com domain name occupied. It's also a fun way to document what's happening in my life (a sort of electronic journal).

This site is... a work in progress. I've got lots of different ideas for it, such as turning it into an alternative online magazine, my own personal web-design company, or a travel-advice site for the budget backpacker. Maybe I'll do all three. In the short-term, I'm using it to practice my creative writing skills. I've got big plans for my life, and this website is like a personal agenda that I'm letting you peek into.

I dare you to have an idea. Break that idea down bit by bit. Start with a piece of it. Sometimes that one piece will lead to something completely different that you never would have thought of. Eventually your brain will become a factory for innovation.

Ryan Rowe is a first-year International MBA student specializing in Strategy and Finance, with a regional focus on Latin America. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and was the Valedictorian of his graduating class at Concordia University in Montreal. Before starting his IMBA, Ryan worked in various areas of credit, collections, and risk management at IBM and the TD Bank. He has also designed marketing and fund-raising campaigns and planned events for non-profit organizations. He is currently employed as a consultant with the York Consulting Group and plans to pursue a career in this field. In addition to his native English language, Ryan also speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese.
